Professional Nanny

Hiring a nanny

There are different ways a nanny can be hired by the parents:

- Regulation for Personel at Home

A nanny who works 3 days a week (based on actual days, not on hours) or less can be hired under the Regulation for Personel at Home. The parents do not pay taxes and social security for the nanny, only a gross salary. Click here for more information.

- ZZP-Nanny (nanny with her own business)

As a nanny is registered with the Chamber of Commerce as an entrepreneur, she works with a special entrepreneurs agreement. The parents do not pay taxes and social security for the nanny. The nanny can work as much days a week as she wants. Click here for more information.

- Full time nanny

A nanny who works 3 days or more, is fully employed by the parents. They get an employers number from the tax-office and pay taxes and social security for the nanny. The nanny can work a maximum of 40 hours a week. Click here for more information.

- Payrolling

A payrolling organization can take over the employment of the nanny. They become the employer (this can be for any amount of hours) and pay taxes and social security. They are responsible and pay the nanny when she gets ill. The parents pay between 1,67 and 1,85 times the gross salary of the nanny and have no employers risks. Click here for more information
